On November 28, 2025, MeshEnvy NCC reached its most significant organizational milestone to date: we are now officially recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization.

What This Means for MeshEnvy​

This designation is much more than a legal formality. It transforms how we can build and sustain Nevada's mesh network:

  • Tax-Deductible Contributions: Individual and corporate donations are now tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
  • Grant Eligibility: We can now pursue federal, state, and private foundation grants that require 501(c)(3) status.
  • Corporate Partnerships: Many technology and infrastructure providers offer special programs and discounts for verified charitable organizations.
  • Public Trust: This status reinforces our commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-owned infrastructure.

Achieving this status would not have been possible without the initial support of our "Founding Members" and everyone who contributed to our early fundraisers. Your support covered the filing fees and operational costs required to establish this formal foundation.

Looking Ahead​

With our federal status secured, we are pivoting from "formation" to "deployment." We are now working on:

  • Establishing our official nonprofit banking and financial tracking.
  • Launching our merchandise store to provide a self-sustaining revenue stream.
  • Applying for infrastructure grants to accelerate the deployment of solar-powered nodes across Nevada's most remote corridors.
