We're building Nevada's mesh network through concrete projects that expand coverage, improve infrastructure, and connect communities across the state. Track our progress and get involved!
Developing a solar-powered Meshtastic node prototype designed for remote deployment across Nevada. This base unit will serve as a foundation for our network infrastructure, providing reliable, off-grid connectivity.
Active fundraising campaign to support initial network deployment and equipment costs. Our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the first phase of infrastructure and establish 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
Establishing communication links (spokes) from Reno to other regions across Nevada, including very remote areas. This project aims to connect Nevada's mesh network by creating reliable pathways to distant communities.
Formation of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to provide a formal structure for fundraising, grant applications, and community organization. This will enable us to accept tax-deductible donations and apply for larger funding opportunities. Many critical capabilities are blocked until nonprofit status is established.
Exploring the possibility of securing National Science Foundation funding for statewide LoRa mesh network infrastructure. The NSF has shown interest in regional connectivity proposals, and this project would involve partnership with NSHE institutions or qualifying non-profits to bring comprehensive mesh coverage to Nevada.
